Active younger children may want to take their parents to stay at the Hotel Hana Maui, where the pool and other activities provide a more suitable environment. Older children are asked to understand that Papalani is a place of quiet sanctuary, where birds, mongoose, and contemplative adults reside for repose and reflection.

We suggest that you bring groceries from Kahului in a cooler. The Ohana Cottage includes a fully-equipped kitchen. The Guest Suite has hotplate, microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker. Hana has two small stores with a limited selection.
For a ‘formal’ evening, dress up in slacks and sandals for dinner at the Hotel Hana Maui. Feel free to peruse Papalani’s diverse libraries of literature and music.
